9010 shock on top of rear end.

we are running a 2012 grt with the stock setup except we don't have a shock on top of the rear end. The car is good just need it to pivot a little sooner on entry. will ruining a shock on top of the rear end help this? what is everyone running for a shock on the rear end gas, oil, what valving?
