    Engine Choice

USMTS Spec style engines west and south of me.... UMP type tracks north and east of me trying to decide on what type of motor will be best for all. Don't want to sacrifice to much with either being weight (adding to front end) or power with UMP...

A good spec head, SHP block, 410 will run pretty well anywhere weekly. If you get on a big track some of the "degree" motors will be better if heavy most of the time.

      What combination 410? What stroke?

If you are working with a spec head I would build something with as large of a bore as possible. The smallest I would go is 4.125, 4.185 to 4.200 would be better.

The larger bore will help with airflow when restricted on cylinder heads.
