    Output shaft yoke length.....

    Hi!

I am currently running a muncie style trans (21" length) with a 4" yoke. About one inch is visible between the end of the tailshaft and the end of the yoke. I am going to bert transmissions (non-ballspline) which are three inches longer. Would it be OK to use the same driveshafts, but go to an 8" yoke? This would have about 4" inside the tail, and 4" outside the tail. Any possible balance issues or any other problems?

    Thanks in advance.....

the bert is shorter and with the longer yoke you should be ok if your not hitting the tailshaft housing now with only 1 inch showing. if you are getting an older bert with a tail shaft that has not been under cut your yoke could bottom out if you get more rearend travel. I would buy the yoke first and try it in the trany your planning on buying might save a headache.
