we have a track were we can run a 602 with a 4 barrel or a built engine that has to have a 2 barrel. with the open cam choice and on a small 3/8 track would the built motor be a better choice or not. these are the rules they are using. let me know what you think......
ENGINES: OPTION 1: 602 Crate...Engine may be used without seal bolts but must meet all GM SPECS with EXCEPTIONS:::
May change Rods,Mains,and Cam Bearings--No coated bearings,production only,No "HIGH" performance
or RACE bearings of any kind allowed!!! Any 4 barrel carb,
No High volume oil pumps,No more than 40 psi oil pressure at 2000 rpm!!!
OPTION 2: 365 cubic inch max * 9.5 to 1 compression max
CARB- 500 cfm two-barrel (part #4412) out of box
choke and air horn may be removed
aftermarket metering block allowed
venturi and base must pass tech gauges
SPACER- 1 inch (no tolerance) 2 gaskets at 0.070" max
INTAKE-2 or 4 barrel cast iron intakes (untouched)
aluminum intakes ford: 7515,8023,7516
gm:edelbrock--2101,2701 ford--7121,7181,7183
No high rise of any kind!!!
HEADS- Factory production OEM heads (unaltered) 74cc and up, 3 angle valve job only!!!! Ford may run World product #53030, GM OEM # 14079267, 3986336, 3986339, 3986339x, 3986388, 3932441, 376445, 3928454, 3932454, 3876487, 3973487, 3933487x, 3973493, 3951598, 468642, 330862 332882, 3998920, 3998991, 3998993, 3998997, 3970126
No aluminum or Vortec heads allowed!!!
VALVES- 2.02 intake, 1.60 exhaust, 1.265 max outside diameter
May use guide plates and 0.375" max studs
Polylocks allowed, NO Stud Girdles!!!
ROCKERS- Stock type-stamped or roller tips allowed
CAM- Any flat tappet, Must be stock firing order
PISTONS- Flat top or dish pistons
CRANK- Stock or stock replacement,stock stroke
Weight: Steel 50lbs; Cast 48lbs,May use SCAT #935010 *IMCA Approved*
RODS- 5.7" or 6.0" stock or stock replacement
Cap screw rods okay
Vortec rod#10108688 allowed
