Sail panels

Thought on the best combo for sail panels full to spoiler, late model style, open sides? Any ideas are appreciated...

I've seen some top cars with open sides lately. Stupid ugly but I guess it serves a purpose.

Yeah I thought the same thing. I'm gonna stick with full length to spoiler just because they look good and more room for sponsors.

I really feel like some opening on the sail panels is beneficial, getting all the air you can on the spoiler really makes a huge difference. I thinking i may go longer with some cut out on the sail panels.

If your rules don't require matching sails, use a large cut out in the right side and a small cut out or no cut out on the left side. I've also seen a lot of guys doing away with the spoiler end cap on the right side and opting for just a small strut for bracing. Although I don't think it makes all that much difference in the end.

The thing I noticed is running open sail panels on short tracks and full on bigger tracks. Saw a USMTS car with sail panels that you could bolt in and close in the openings on the sail panels or remove them easily.

It MAY be beneficial. But I'd say most are doing it because they saw someone else do it.

What I DO know is that Mark Bush did an aero test.. Now his cars have that style.. But maybe it's a coincidence?

You won't find much if any info about MBR cars on the net. As far as I know, you have to be on the "team" in order to really gain all access to his cars and parts. His cars run very well around my area, but I see them beaten more regularly than winning. There are two that run around here regularly, one is a threat to win just about anywhere, the other is a novice. The bodies are like I described earlier. Small cutout on LR, large on RR, flat decks, wide noses. Nothing much different from most manufactureres. This link is a pic of one of the MBR cars. From what I have seen, they all look very similar to this, at least for 2013. If you look at the other albums, there are some more pics of this car and the other car, red 18 Matt Cooper.
