what spring is every one running now a days on the front of a metric clipped 4 bar car. does not matter what chassis just need a general idea. it will have tubed lowers if that matters.

Seen 550s on them. Lots of things play affect track/condition/roll center.When it seems all eyes are on you when you're wearing a new pair of jeans you wonder why everyone thinks you look so darn good in them. When taking them off you notice the sticker still on the pant leg.

Stock metric, or nova lowers? There is 150 to 200 lbs difference ( stock metric being stiffer because of the motion ratio) There are a lot of variables such as roll center, center of gravity, tire sidewall, shocks, and track surface and shape. We always stay at 1000 or above on stock metric and 700 or above on nova stuff, unless running a bump rubber setup. I feel like the cars running 500 and 550 stuff have something else holding the front of the car up, like suspension bind.

Car weight is a factor too. Especially Front weight. Pro/Anti dive is also a consideration but to a much lesser degree.

I have a 4 bar car, metric clip with metric lowers. Running 850 on the RF and 750 on the LF. What heavy duty said is correct. The metric lowers are shorter so the motion ratio is different thus needing a heavier spring. I had started with a 750 on the RF and was bottoming out the lower control arm on the frame rail. Moved up to 850 and its not hitting anymore and I'm using up all but 3/4" of the shock travel so I've just kept it right there. Our track is dry slick 85% of the time.
Buddy of mine was running metric lowers and said he ran lighter springs cause he felt it held the RF down better where as heavier springs caused it to bounce or snap faster.

I drove one this year w/ 750LF 550RF. Everything was so much different on that car than any i've ever worked on. But it drove around the corner pretty well. RR was on zlink in front.

How much travel are your cars setup to handle on the RF. Ours had 5 1/2 inches of travel available on the RF. I understand that we are probably getting some A frame contact with the frame at that point, but it seemed to work well for us. This was with an impala stub car.

All depends on how you enter the corner if you have much travel on the right front at all, enter all the way off the gas and it will bottom out, be on the gas a little and it wont.
