    tire questions

What does it mean after a 40 lap race with new tires (a-40) hard, the tires are very hot but not worn at all. In fact you can still see where the tits where?

I would have to say tire spin. Tire spin causes the surface layer of rubber to heat very quickly while the interior rubber remains cooler. If the surface area heats to high temp and then cools rapidly, the rubber will harden up similar to the skin on your feet when it calluses up.

The tire wasn't hooking up. If it was your LR I would assume the RR was not as hot but showed wear.

Actually it was both rear tires. Both were hot but no wear what so ever

I'm guessing they were also shiny or polished looking?

Somewhat but not too bad. Looks like if it were tire spin they would be feathered or worn some?

Did the car get any better once the tires got some heat in them? If not, I would keep adding rear weight till it stopped. That's a pretty hard tire and could use a lot of grooving and siping if allowed.
