Bad Head Gasket or what?

What would cause your bottom radiator hose to blow apart and suck the spring out of your top hose into your radiator tank? Temperature at the time was only 190 degrees. Bottom hose was 2 months old and the top hose was 2 weeks old. Anyone out there have any issues like this? Bad hose? Head gasket?? Any input would be appreciated.
