Does a Brinn Transmission need a pilot bushing?

Just got a used Brinn tranny and we were wondering if it needed a pilot bushing on the input shaft in the back of the crank. Thx.

you don't have to us it but the opition is ther.the coupler is going to support the end of the shaft.

I've always ran a pilot bushing with my Brinn.

Have run both ways. Don't need to run one.

There was a thread about this about a week ago. The tech guy from Brinn posted that they recommend it, but most people said it wasn't necessary.

You can run it either way. They will tell you that if you run the bushing it helps keep everything lined up, especially if you don’t run the long block dowels to register the bellhousing correctly when using a midplate. We have never run one in 10 years and have seen no problems, in fact one of our trannies the pilot broke off so its not even an option.
