73-77 chevelle spring buckets same as 68-72 ?

I have a 73 -77 chevelle front clip. I was wondering if the lower spring pockets are the same as the 68-72 chevelle? I know it makes a difference on your spring rates. I have a 600lb on rf and bottomed out the shock this past weekend along with being loose center out. It was the first night in this car and trying to work out bugs.

73-77 Chevelle. ratio is 30%
I would stiffen RF spring to a 700,

Big metric would be 77 and newer impala caprice etc. As far as I know the 73-77 is a one of a kind front clip. I've never had one but heard the are very similar to 70's Camaro clips as far as geometry goes.

they still use this as the base geometry on the nascar front clips. some of those parts you see on ebay will fit. you can buy a steering box with just about any ratio you like as well. I put pinto spindle on my mod. it takes some time with the bump steer gage to get it set up. As said earlier you need stiffer springs I've got 800#lf and 700#rf now with alum headed motor. as a starting point may change later.

They are similar to the big metric, but the big metric's drag link is different. The lowers, and spindles are pretty close. They might be a little heavier than the big metric frames.

Thanks everyone for the info!! (What an Awesome site!) It is definitely a 73-77 chevelle... confirmed with pics and measurements. Like Racin6mod, i too have pinto spindles and it did take a long while to get bump steer set on it. That being said, what are base line bump steer numbers on these mod's? If it makes a diff... I run a 602 crate.
