    gear selection

I run USRA mod and we have a 8000 chip rule. My motor is a good motor but not the newest and greatest parts, so I run a 7600 chip. I have gotten car finally hooked up to track and need to get from a high of 7000(that I ran last night in both heat and feature) up to 7500-7600. I currently have a 6.02 gear. What ratio do I need to get another 500-600 rpms. Motor seems to bog down and I think that is hurting my corner/exit handling. thx.

Typically speaking, a .10 gear change is about 100 or slightly more rpm. JMO

Thanks, that's what I was trying to remember. I'm going to try a 6.50.
