Carburetor question. 750 vs 850 base

What are the reasons/advantage to running a carburetor with a 750 and/or 850 base? Thank you everyone for your opinions. In particular, I run a Willys 750 alcohol carb

Good rule of thumb is 2cfm per cubic inch. A little to much I better than not quite enough

I totally agree. Try a bigger carb and it will feel lazy most times.

If you are new to tuning, you will be less likely to run it lean with the smaller carb.
