    Rear Gear Help

Looking for some help on rear gear selection and starting point for Plymouth Speedway in Indiana. Track is listed as 3/8 mile and we would like to tune for a mid to high racing groove. Max rpm in the 7300-7500 range running UMP Hoosies and 4.86 pinion gear.

    Thanks in advance.

I haven't raced there personally yet, but a lot of my buddies are running 5.83-5.88. Puts them around 7400. Its gonna depend a lot on how much power you're making too though. If you've got a hog of a motor, start with a 4.67 or 5.75. If you've got a small motor, may want to bring a 5.97 with you.
