j bar help

running the j bar 1" below pinion(quickchange) with 6 1/2" of rake in it and can not get car to roll over at all; car has no sidebite whatsoever. If i lower the frame side giving me 4 1/2" of split am i headed in the right direction?

I would be checking for binding in the RF and rear suspension.
what type of car?
what springs?

You're going the WRONG direction. More rake will induce more body roll and more side bite...to a certain point...too much rake can cause some erratic behavior but at 6 1/2" you're nowhere near that point in my opinion.
But yes, more info on your car would be helpful...

6.5" is nothing. I felt once we went to 8" plus the car rolled over less onto rr especially when on the bars. Our longer bar at 22.5 rolled hard into the rr while the 19" doesn't. Also check for binding as well as your offset of rear end left to right.

I think Harris changed to the more current design car in late 2006- 2007 which is a much taller cage car and designed more for 4 link, instead of leafs, and 3 link

I believe your design car is a very low center of gravity car. Low cage height, under rail without a lot of droop room before rear end hits the chassis.

Going to be difficult to get that car to act like a modern 4 link car. Difficult, not impossible.

I also could be wrong on the chassis changeover year, and it may be a newer style car as well.
