    LLM Tq/Hp curve

    400ci, 4412 carb, dyno = 510 TQ @ 3500-4000 rpm, 499 HP.
    Engine falls off @6300rpm.
    LLM rear tires must punch 50!
    Is this a desirable Tq/hp range?
    I'm worried the tons of TQ down low may light up rear tires.

    your numbers look good to me, especially with a 4412, your gone have to play with your gear ratio some, but i think your in good shape.....

      torque is what you want to bring you off corner, load a lot of bite in rear and let her eat

        I know a lot of the successful 2bll/LLM winners around here turn 8000-8100rpm!
        I'll assume they have small CI screamer type combo's.
        Thought maybe since most use AR 56 rear tires they cut back on TQ & used HP&momentum instead.
        Guess I can load up bite & rear % & use TQ to our advantage?

          I agree with fastford and fox hunter42. That engine combo is about what we run in CA against the 604 in LLM competition only we're on Hoosier D55s. I've never been a believer in turning 8K if 6-7K gets the job done. Darn few engines aren't well past their torque and hp at 8,000.

              Max HP RPM + 800 or so for max rpm. So if max HP is at 63 then 71 is about right.

                As long as it's drivable it 7000 should work.
                Those guys going 8100rpm either have broken tachs or they are using the back side of the power curve to keep from blowing off the tires.

                  Use the longest rod like a 6.125 the HP will not fall off so fast after peak power, Plus you will see a flatter torque curve.
