engine on gas from alky

Our gas engine went down last night, our backup engine was built for alky and run on alky. Is there anything we need to change to run the backup engine on gas except carb? Thanks for any help.

How much compression?

Not really sure, probably around 13-1, I'm not an engine person and don't have the spec sheet with me. I was hoping all we had to do was put the gas carb on and maybe plugs. Thanks

change carb,plugs and adjust fuel psi.to like 7 to 9 psi

Thanks, taking the other engine to builder tomorrow to see what damage the broken push rod done, one valve spring looks odd for sure along with broken valve guide. I will visit with him about the backup engine. Thanks again for the help.

You need to adjust timing also 29-32 on alky, 36-40 on gas.

Depending on cylinder head, you need to adjust your timing...If it has Dart Iron Eagles, 36* is max you want to go on your timing...They will show most HP at 35-36*

Its a Dart Al. head, builder said 36-38 for this engine. Thanks
