What RPM can these rods take?

    http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Scat-S...Rods,6608.html

have those rods in my engine, with a GM crank and forged pistons. What kind of RPM should be the limit on this?

Wanting to gear lower, but not sure how to go, only pulling 5800 now...I think 6500+ should be no problem.

those are great rods for the money. i know a few guys running them in mod motors turning 7500+ with zero issues. it will be much easier on the rods if you have lightweight pistons.

If using hypereutectic piston's I would stay below 6500 rpm. hypereutectic piston's are generally heavy & are cast not Forged therefore limiting there rpm potential. Otherwise those rod's with a good lightweight forged piston if machined right by the eng builder should last several year's in a 7500rpm motor.

I agree with the others. Your rpm limit is the pistons. They could last years or seconds in a 7000 rpm race engine. Racing generally requires racing equipment and hyperexplosive pistons aren't racing equipment.

this motor has been turned pretty high by the guy i bought it from, ill make sure the pistons are hyper and not forged sometime.
