    lobe separation

All the oval track cams i see in books have 106 lobe separation. If that is the best to use im just wondering why gm didnt put that in their crate engines? Or what do you guys recommend in a street stock? no rollers but no other rule on it.

Generally the better engines I built for the streets were between 105 and about 108. The wider lobe separations work better for street use. As sloppy as the 602-604 crates are on all their tolerances nothing would surprise me. Mexico' cheap labor could probably care less as it's just a better job than working in the fields.
