    msd dist/ tach problems...

anyone ever have any issues with a autometer pro comp recall tach and a msd hei pro billet distributer working together? my tach reads fine untill im racing and its dancing all over the place while im racing, i can see it out of the corner of my eye down the straightaways. plus it will read like 6000 rpm for a second while cranking engine to start, so then when u hit the recall button, it will read 6000 or 7000 or whatever it jumped to while cranking. it said 8000 rpm after a race, and i know it wasnt spinning that fast, i have a 7500 rev limit set in the dist. i do have the new style msd that doesnt have the dreaded dial rev, mine has the wire u ground to set it.

Do you have an MSD ignition? Do you have your tach wire run right along with the MSD Ignition wiring? Do you have them grounded to the - side of the battery or just a screw/bolt to the metal of the chassis?

no msd box, the pro billet hei has a internal module, and a ground eyelet, which is grounded to chassis. double checked dist ground, and tach ground, have less than a tenth of a volt for voltage drop to ground circuits from neg terminal at battery.

That tenth volt is that with it running under load or just the switch on?
