Switching from a 4412 to a 750, having issues...............

Just borrowed this BG 750 DP carb and I took it down the road once and as I got into the 4 barrels it wanted surge and not excelerate. As soon as I got off the throttle the car died. Started right back up. Never had an issue with my 4412 and the guy I got if from ran it last year without an issue.

It has a 31 squirter in the front and a 35 in the back. If I cycle the throttle with the engine off it seems that fuel, more or less, trickles from the rear squirter and continues to trickle for a second after WOT. Is this my issue? removed the squirter and the needle is there.. BTW it is on a 12:1 355, solid cam, World SR heads, HEI, timing is a 34, no vaccum leaks...........Thanks

probably need to bump your timing a couple degrees. when we go from our 4412 to our 750 dp we add a couple of degrees timing and it take care of it.

That was my next move. Just trying to be conservative on the timing cause it's a hyper piston motor (dirty word, I know). Thanks

Check the rear accelerator pump assembly for issues w/the rear squirter.

I haven't got to work on it yet. I did look around last night and there is no lash between the pump lever and pump arm front or rear. I'm gonna loosen those up and see what happens.

WoooHoooo.......It's a freakin rocket!!! Didn't change the timing but I did put a new rear pump umbrella and pump in it and changed the plugs. Took it down the road and it pulls HARD!! Thanks guys
