dampner spring

I have a set of heads with one of the dampner springs broken. Would it be alright if I took that one out or would I need to take all of them out?

You could take that one out for a pinch, but I wouldn't run it more then a night like that, and if one broke the others probably arn't far behind. The dampner is there to dampen the harmonics of the spring, some springs are designed to be ran with out them. Bee hives and duals that fit snuggly to one another come to mind.
