After my daughter's assessment, my aunt mentioned that several relatives had attention problems when they were younger, but no one ever got tested. That conversation left me with more questions than answers. Could someone recommend information about whether ADHD is genetic and whether it can skip a generation?

That sounds a lot like what happened in my family. My son's diagnosis got everyone talking, and suddenly my dad remembered teachers always saying my grandfather was bright but couldn't stay focused. Back then nobody even considered ADHD. I found this article helpful because it explains how genetics can influence ADHD and why it may seem to skip generations: is ADHD genetic and can it skip a generation . It made our family history make a lot more sense.
