We seen some people using what looked like a AN 12 line from the the left valve cover to a remote breather tank, so when we built our next motor I thought I'd try the same and ran it for the first time last week. The issue we had was that on corner entry the oil pressure warning light would come on and not go off until corner exit. we use an external reverse mount pump and had 75psi at idle which i knew was more than i needed but didn't have a different relief spring so I ran it. I don't think its a oil pan or block issue its a dart block that has had the lifter valley cnc cut to allow more drain back, 2 AN 8 drain backs on the right head and an Olson 10 quart system. We did use restrictors with a 3/16" hole which is bigger than we used before but the lifter manufacture said not to restrict at all due to them being full time high pressure pin oilers. the breather can had no oil in it so its not like it was just filling it up. I just have a hard time believing its a return issue with as big as the block has been cut and the right side drain backs, So my main question is was it simply pumping to much or did the remote breather system not let it breath enough? thanks for the replies. and sorry for just kinda rambling not really sure what all info will help.

i would think you need more breathing that just one AN12 line. maybe you need another one? -
Don't quote me but I do believe you need some form of a pressure regulator for the oil. My oil system is not finished as yet but I've been told to make sure a reg was in place if the spring is removed. I can send the link if needed. I am by no means an engine expert but just my 2cents.Comment

That's what we used, but the -12 was hooked to the suction side of our wide-vac, then the exhaust went to the breatherComment
