I've noticed all the different hose and fitting manufacturers only recommend using their fittings for there braided hose. But is there really any difference from brand to brand? I don't see why I can't use Aeroquip or XRP or Fragola on a Earl's brand of hose and long as they are made for that type of hose. Am I wrong?

As long as the -(dash) numbers are the same and they are true AN fitting, I think the flare is like 37 degrees, your ok. Plumbing fittings are like 45 degree flares. -
Sometimes ID's and OD's are a little different from brand to brand, but I believe for the most part you can swap them up if needed .Comment
