Anybody use vortex icone inserts? What did you think, did they quiet it down any, or hurt power?

How well do the slip on style mufflers, 6 or 8" quiet things down. Just want to take some of the high pitched pop out of it, we dont have a spec'd muffler or db level we have to get to.

I have vortex muffler inserts in ALL my headers.

When tracks started running the raceivers I didnt like the extra noise from not having my ear plugs burried in my ears.

They quite it down a lot and they do NOT hurt, or change any tuning whatsoever.

I chassis dynoed my 360 motor with 3 inch outlets and votex inserts, tuned it, then pulled the inserts out and gained or lost nothing.

I run 3.5 headers on my other motors and tested the smaller set I have thinking if any showed a change it would be the smaller set for sure.

I welded mine in on the edges of the header so I can grind the weld off easily to take them out and move them to new headers as needed later. At 69.99 each I didnt want to be losing them.
