I just bought a Napa Gold 1060 oil filter and got the Fram PH 5 filter off,it has the anti drainback valve.I run a Chevy 355 4 bolt block and alky,and will change the oil after this week.Question is stay with the 1060 with valve,the 1061 without valve or go with the full race 1060r filter? Do I run the risk of damage this week with the current valved filter? Thanks Eddie

I have always run the 1060 on my race engines. Both gas and Alky and never had a problem.My sarcasm is a pre-emptive strike to your stupidity!! -
If the filter is mounted in its stock location (opening facing up), you don't need the anti drain back. That is used on filters mounted sideways or upside down. So the oil doesn't drain out of the filter when the engine is off. I don't think that little rubber flap in there will do anything to pressure. But maybe someone has done some tests on it.Crew Chief "Tip of the day":
Most handling problems can be solved by adjusting the screw-ball. It can be difficult to fine tune at times. Explaining yourself loudly and striking it on top of the helmet with a dead blow hammer usually works well.Comment

Good enough,I will run this filter this week.I was meaning that I was on alky and would change oil and filter weekly(Not that alky or gas would affect the filter).I didnt think I needed the valve with the SBC block mount oil adapter. Thanks for the replys,EddieComment
