    Stroker Crank

    Wanting to put a stroker in a 355 for a Mod. What works best 3.625, 3.75, 3.875, or 4.00.

      A 3.75 stroke 383 is a good all around engine and the crank can be easily fitted into a GM block.

            The 4.00 stroke really has excellent torque but can be a handful to hook up and drive. Personally I like the 3.875 stroke better. A little easier to put in the block and easier to drive.

                Then you are going to want to keep it to a 3.652 or a 3.75. I really like the 3.652 crank.

                    consider a 3.80 stroke and a 5.850 rod and use an off the shelf piston for a 6.00 rod x 3.48/3.50 stroke piston

                      I think the 3.875 requires some grinding and it makes a 395 w/ your bore. it will be plenty for your mod on a slick track. or if your wanting something cheaper a 383 may be easier to find used parts 3.75stroke

                          Its alot of work, parts are harder to find, less choices. I feel a very small gain for a modified. Go with a 383 and work on the chassis setup. Yes, you will need a small base cam.
