    Sportmod tranny help?

I am building a sportmod for next season. I am planning on running an automatic tranny. We must use a truly functioning converter. I am trying to decide what tranny to get. The powerglide seems to be what everyone talks about, but the TH350 is more readily available and affordable. Which one should I go with? The engines we are running make between 300 and 350 horse power with roughly 400 pounds of torque. The car also weighs roughly 2500lbs. Thanks for any help.

The powerglide is lighter and takes a lot less power turn.
My sarcasm is a pre-emptive strike to your stupidity!!

The Powerglide is a good choice. You can also run it as a clutchless first gear only trans. You can go online to learn how to do all this yourself. It is soo simple and very cheap!!

You have to keep it a two speed with a converter for most sport mods. Its also better to run high gear. You are turning a lot less parts in high.
