    Head choice

Looking to update our topend package, currently have a 16 deg wedge sbc set up, are we are looking for an overall package ( good combination of hp, tq and drivability ) do we sticking with a wedge head and invest in say a 13 deg deal, switch to an sb2.2 setup or go for a BD Brodix package, this will be run on 360 ci, dry sump on alky, will all quality parts used.....

Can some one give me alittle guidence please...

You'll first want to pinpoint why you're wanting the change from the 16* Stuff. Just need more power? Look at the newer Dart stuff. Heard lots of good things about them.
Curious that we spend more time congratulating people who have succeeded than encouraging people who have not.

Just looking for more of everything, our valve train is as good as it gets big lifters, big cam core, we have changed cam, valve size, intake and all ( this is a big bore short stroke deal ) and have just about come as far as we can with theses castings. But our stuff is very peaky to get the power out of it to keep up with the other engines around here.
What direction is the right one to take, alot of guys in the area are running 13* allpro, 13.5*gb, 12*dart and an assortment of 15* heads and are very fast but seem to have to spin them very high to get them to work.
Is that the wright way to go.... big cam, big heads with lots of high end hp and little torque? I want something that can produce a good wide hp and tq band and not be peaky and not have to spin it to 9000rpm.

        Any thoughts...?

With 360" I think you are going to have to spin it some decent RPM. We have a 422" SB2.2 and turn it about 8200-8400. There is a guy that has been very successful out here with a 360" SB2.2, wins races with it, but turns it 8800-9200 rpm...

Currently spinning to 8400rpm now with our set up, would sb2.2 be the way to go?
The head are quite big for the cubs, measure anround the 272cc.

If you are thinking about a SB2.2 360" combo, I'd get hold of Steve Hendren @ Hendrens Racing Engines. They built the 360" SB2.2 that Hogge is using out here...
