    PS fluid REALLY hot!

    Appleton 3.4 rack

    front mount PS pump

after race, the reservoir canister is really hot, as in too hot to touch. It's mounted next to firewall, well clear of headers, etc. There are some drips down the side of the reservoir, as if fluid may be bubbling up and over...

what would cause this? Should the canister be that hot? Do I need to slow down the pump with a different pulley? We turn about 7300 at end of straights right now.

We run a 3.4 Appleton rack also, but with it mounted on the dry sump, so it is a 50% reduction and never have had it very warm at all. Our reservoir is also mounted on firewall. What kind of reduction do you have on it now. When we had a wet sump engine and the KRC pump was mounted on the front we also ran a 50% reduction set up....8000-8400 rpm
