    Best Coil for Specfic Application

What would be the best coil for this application?

MSD distributor part# 8570 mated with a MSD-6A(6420)and running a 6,200 chip. 602 Crate motor on an asphalt circle track with an average lap of 16 seconds.

Looking at either an MSD 8252 or 8253.

Don't mind spedning the extra money on the 8253 if the performance gains warrants its, that is, I want to make sure I get the most I can for the buck

    Thanks all

Save yourself some of the racing budget and get the same coil as the higher priced MSD piece. You can go to either Autozone #C-839 or Carquest #FD-478 they are a perfect match to the MSD 6al and will get everything out of the box. And you will usually spend under $35 in most cases, all you will need to do is make a couple of mounting feet out of L channel also use some bolts & nylock nuts and your down the road. That way you can use the money saved for entry fees, gas or tires.......

I'm leaning towards the 8252, but...

bushracing67, what combination and application were/are you using the 8207?

Just for the record the parts store coils I mentioned are not the same as the Blaster SS coil. The parts store coils have the same switching speed as the MSD 8252 & MDS 8253 coils. The biggest differences is the fact that the MSD 8252 & MSD 8253 can source more secondary current due to their construction. If you have the budget to spend the extra dollars or need the extra current due to running really rich like you mentioned then by all means you should get a MSD 8252 or 8253. Most platforms I am aware of like to run clean, lean and mean. If you have never tried it you can overwelm any coil if your air/fuel is to rich even the MSD 8252 or MSD 8253. Been there done that........
