Holley 650

Looking at buying a Holley 650 double pumper carb. It has an idle circuit problem. Runs good once it's out of the idle circuit. Any one have any ideas what's going on? Is it worth buying if I can get it cheap?

Any fuel running out the boosters at idle?
How closed are the primary butterflys?
How far out in turns are the idle screws?
Are the power valves soft and moveable?
Are the float levels at the bottom of the sight hole?
Any holes drilled in the butterflys?

Not sure. I haven't bought it yet. Just want to make sure I'm not going to waste money for it not to work. He just had it rebuilt and he thinks the guy used the wrong metering block gasket.
