3.75 crank in a 305 block?

gotta be 355 or smaller ci. I already have a 400 forged crank and a 305 block, and vortec heads.looking to do something dofferent. will this combo work in a hobbclass? flat top, 500 hyd.cam, stock head rules

the 305 bore is way to small. you will end up with less than 340ci depending on final bore. a better option would be a 307 block with a 3.75 crank that will get you 354ci

A 400 crank is a 3.75 stroke. So if you already have one in a 305 then I guess you know your answer.

thanx for reply guys. the 400 crank isnt in anything. its the one I was thinking of using in the 305.

I will take larger bore over stroke any day. My choice would be 400 block with a 327 crank. I loved the ones I have drove before.

The bore of a 307 is the same as a 283...3.875...a 305 has a bore that's even smaller 3.73...The cylinder will shroud the valves...Why would anybody want to put a 3.75 crank into either of these blocks is beyond me....Unless you're building some kind of tow truck or fork lift engine....Turn it down and throw it in a 283....Same difference...
