Pro's and cons on the system 1 canister type oil filter? Thanks .....

the aluminum case breaks easy where it spins on. We took a rock on ours and snapped right off. Otherwise they filtered great, and you could inspect the filter media at will. Also seemed to have slightly higher and more steady oil pressures

I have one on my car and I love it. Its easily to clean and will save you money after several oil changes. When I spin my filter off from the block oil does not go down the sides of the filter like it usually does with a standard filter. I turn the filter over into a jar and drain the oil out of the filter and then take it apart and clean it with engine degreeser. It takes about 5 mins from start to finish.

We used one with a remote mount and they were great. It was out of the way, so no damage, and made cleaning very simple.
