    timing chain question

    is there an advantage to using a billet set with torrington bearing versus one without the bearing ? non roller hyd. flat tappet turning 6300 to 6500

    Only if you plan on Zero Lashing out your front to back camshaft play with a torrington cam button up against the cam cover.

    Sometimes it also helps if you are trying to zero out vertical run-out on the timing chain from the crank gear up to the cam gear. A couple thousands can vary your timing 2-3*@ 3500 rpms, .005" can get you 5* or more @3500 and 7-10* at 6500.

    604's run a stock cast gear set-up and they last a season or more.
