    Rev chip rule???

USRA has a 8,000 RPM chip rule on open motors and I was wondering what all needs to be done for the best results? Leave the gear the same so the car comes off the corner the same and loose a little at the end of the straight? A little slower getting into the corner = quicker back on the gas? Or would you recam and rehead to make the most power at 7900 - 8000 RPM?

I would just take the motor to a dyno and play w/ the cam timing. Most likely you will be able to advance it a bit to bring the power in a little quicker. Depending on how much RPM you are already pulling will depend on whether this is worth it or not.
