    piston question?

Im putting a new engine together. Its a 400 with JE 18degree Heads and pistons, The oil rings are in the wristpin,They sent a steel ring to take up the gap.
The directions say to install the steel ring and then install the oil rings as normal. The oil rings wont spin and I quit for the night,to get an opinion on this.
I had a hard time getting the oil rings in the cylinder. Something tells me im doing something wrong. Thanks

check for a dimple on the oil support rail. it should go down and over the gap above the wrist pin. if not the oil rings will bind.

Thanks The dimple is down. But its not in the wrist pin opening. Somehow I missed that. Thats the little things that cause problems. I had pistons with slugs before, not this setup. Thanks again!
