    4.125 stroke crank in gm 400 block

    how much clearencing would it take to put a 4.125 stroke crank in a gm 400 block?lookin at building a 445ci.,small block.would i be better off going with the 4.0 stroke and 434 cid?.....will a 6inch rod clear with a 4.125 stroke crank?..thanks jc

    If you just want to hear run on stand go for it.You asking for a time bomb with stock block.I dont think you can grind enough without getting into water jacket.You grind alot just to get four inch crank in. You better hard block to bottom of freeze plugs because its a sick feeling when you hit water jacket

        camshaft clearance is also a big problem.Choose your rods wisely.Also if you are making any kind of power the cap webbing won't take it. good luck
