    Cam suggestion

I currently run a gm 602 crate engine in my imca modified. So keeping it "stock" or sealed is not an issue. My question is if i keep the bottom end exactly the way it is what could i go with in terms of a bigger cam to get more power out of it? I'm not looking for a monster increase in power but just something extra. One suggestion have heard was to go with the JR motors PRC 101 cam. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The stock one in it is really mild as far as cams go. The 101 cam is a pretty big step up. With the compression those have being only 9:1 the 101 is probably too big. You just don't have the compression to overcome the duration and you will end up without enough cylinder pressure. Your .050 duration would be better in the high 230 to low/mid 240 range.

    The one in it is 212 / 222. The PRC 101 is 256 / 264.

This is from my experience, others may say different. But 256 for intake duration would work with something like 12:1 compression ratios and you simply don't have that in yours.
