Canton or Peterson sandwich adapter, and the filter still goes in the same place, just an inch lower

Where are most mounting the cooler? On the deck like a late model?

When we ran a cooler with a wet sump, we used a CV billet adaptor, #12 line to a 2 qt remote filter, #12 line to a Seatrab cooler mounted on the deck and then a #12 line back into the engine....

If I may add to this thread:
I have been using WIX filters with no problems for years. I am planning to use an oil cooler next year as well. Is anyone using an OBERG sandwich filter?
I used one on an old Datsun engine and it was great. Any success using them on a V8? Should I just use a remote filter mount and stick with the WIX spin ons?
Also, is a heat exchanger radiator as effective as a stand alone cooler? Application is a pavement late model, turned road racer, wet sump SBC.

Do not ever use the oberg as your only oil filter.Everybody uses an oberg with their drysump but only to filter the oil before it goes into the drysump tank.Oil has to be filtered before going back into the engine and the oberg won't get the job done.
A deck mounted oil cooler is much more efficient than an oil cooler built into the radiator.Trying to use 210 degree water doesn't work as good as 80 degree air.
