exhaust pitch??

I've noticed a sound difference in my motor compared to others. Mine tends to be more calm and smooth yet the faster cars have more of a growl....Can valve size dictate a sound difference at WOT.

I have always thought it was cam and exhaust that made the differences.

But thats only theory. I remember an old super stock that had an exhaust made from old semi exhaust. That thing sounded like a HOGGG!!! But it was only a 377 and was built from junk that me and another guy had given him. You could hear it over all the big motors.

I went froma 180* to a regular style header and it made a world of difference in sound.
