Nevermind. I'll ask somewhere else where the folks aren't having a constant pissing contest. This used to be a pretty good board. Looks like that is over.

I would rather have 27 posts of pissing information than one wrong reply.
BTW you should state question with what cam/ springs, big difference.
Never mind.Gator Engineering

Spring pressure would have a bigger effect then RPM, I would say abot 300lbs open is all your gonna get away with. Tap heads ( no need to drill) and use the straight studs with no hex, no machining required and can be done on the motor if you use a shop vac, or maybe grease on the tap while tapping.Josh K.

Cam/springs will be dictated by the peak rpm/spring pressures the studs can handle. That makes sense, doesn't it? Why cam for 7000rpm when studs will fail after 6000? I had the basics listed, but since we started right out with such helpful information, I decided to end it early rather than let a contest from another thread hijack mine.
Thanks to dirty white boy and fast_crew for offering helpful info. (whether you agree with them or not).

Are the press in studs per rules or budget? I don't recommend using them if you don't have to, atleast pin them or as stated run the straight studs with out the hex.Originally posted by Mod77L View PostCam/springs will be dictated by the peak rpm/spring pressures the studs can handle.
