This guy has a motor for sale with 882 head with 2.02/1.60 valves should I run them or just take the springs and put them on a my vortecs

Another vote for the vortecs. The combustion chamber is smaller with the vortecs and it's a better cylinder head.

The Vortec is a far better head but if the pistons have big domes for the 882 then the vortec chamber will not fit over them.

I never could make much power at all with 882s. Its my opinion but I think they are just terrible heads. Intake runner is a dogleg! Vortec!

Strip the 882 heads and bolt them in for rear weight.

Never run used springs, and the vortec head is the better head
