    Valve Lash questions???

I am running a steel block aluminum headed sbc. I have a Doug Herbert .630 solid roller camshaft. The valve lash recommendation is .25-.25 I have heard that running a steel block aluminum head setup that you need to either add or subtract on the valve lash, is this true and if so, how much? Thanks

If the lash is .25-.25 with the engine hot then the material of the heads and block do not matter.

Cold settings are normally set .004 tighter but depends on the head.Set .004 tight cold then recheck when hot.

Or just bite the bullet and, if the lash is supposed to be .025 hot, set them hot and then let the engine cool down and recheck the following night. See what they are cold and then you know if they are .004-.008 tighter...You have your cold setting to go from...
