700r4 shifting

a buddy of mine is running a bomber car with a 700r4 transmission, problem is when its in second it will shift, is there a way we can prevent this from happening?

are you talking about down shifting or up shifting. unhook detent cable pull cable out about 1/2 inch and lock in place with sinker or something like that.that will give it the pressure it need and will not down shift at full throttle. will not up shift if it is truly in 2nd gear with the shifter.
