screw in rocker arm studs?

I have to replace my screw in rocker arm studs with jam nuts. Should I switch to the larger 7/16, or is 3/8 ok, and should I go with ARP or another brand? I had an old set of 3/8 with the jam nuts and one of them broke off last night. It would be a lot more $ if I swith to 7/16 because then I have to get a new set of rocker arms, balls, and polylocks.

If I was forced to stay with 3/8", then I would only use ARP. If it's legal to run 7/16 studs, I would use them before any 3/8 studs.
