You're 100% right keeks. According to what I found, a Brinn is 6.040" deep and a Bert/Falcon is 6.290" deep.

If I were going to fix this on the low budget, I would get a second .250" thick alum mid-plate, cut the ears off and use it as a shim. Preferably an old used one. Just make sure the bellhousing bolts are long enough to accommodate the extra thickness.

Reading the brinn website they suggest not running a pilot bearing unless you have excessive wear on the drive plate, not sure if you are running one or not.

I was gonna do the midplate idea, but I thought I would be moving the entire bell further from the flywheel, and I would run into starter issues. So I went to the local fab shop and bought a chunk of 3/8" aluminum, and made it to fit between the trans and bell.
