    Pro-Cam Fuel Pump Which regulator?

i have a Pro Cam 15# fuel pump. Tried using a Holley Bypass Regulator and am still having problems. Motor idles good but when I run the throttle around 3,500 rpm I can watch the fuel level drop in the bowls. Alcohol- AN10 fuel lines-new fuel pump-new regulator-new fuel cell

I cleaned the fuel filter twice and checked the pickup tube in the fuel cell. Fuel pressure is 7 1/2 pounds at idle. Regulator is on the back of the fuel log.

When I had a C&S alky carb, I ran a ball valve for the by-pass. It was attached to the fuel log. It would close under throttle, sending the fuel to the motor. At idle, the motor had about 2-3 lbs pressue and 9 at WFO
Bill W. and Dr. Bob......who could have known.

Speedway sells a fuel log with a valve that connects to your linkage. It regulates fuel flow at idle and opens up during race conditions.

Or increase the size of the hoses to increase the flow without increasing pressure.

You need a bypass such as the barry grant or c&s for alky. Pressure is way too high at 7 1/2 at idle on alky.

            Throttle bypass

dirtrace is right, need a throttle bypass not a regulator. i use a barry grant throttle bypass after the fuel log with my 15# pro-cam works great! tried regulators ,would not work?

What type of filter are you running? If it is a log style that the fuel goes end to end the proper assy is the filter goes into the housing with the open end of the filter towards the engine, then the spring is on the back side of the filter towards the tank side of the unit. If you have it backwards it will shut fuel off as RPM goes up.
Not saying this is your problem but I have seen it before and it is easy to check.

                Filter is installed correctly.
I talked to another racer last week and he helped me solve the problem.
I had put the bypass on the back of the log which was allowing to much fuel to reach the carb.
When I started the motor the fuel ran over the bowls.
I lowered the floats and stopped the bowls from overflowing. I actually lowered the floats enough that the needle and seat were acting like restrictors.
I solved the problem by moving the bypass to the front of the log. When I restarted the engine the fuel level in the bowls was way to low.
I reset the float level and the problem was solved.
I have been told that it doesn't matter if the bypass is in the front or rear of the log. In my situation moving the bypass solved the problem I was having.

Thanks to everyone for there suggestions!!
