    Popping on decel

Ok, i put a new car together, have five races on it now. Powder coated chassis, fresh 383 all good stuff, new everything on the car when I put it together. The car has ran really well, motor pulls hard all the way to redline but I have a consistant popping on decel, mostly noticable at lower speeds and only really comes around when the motor has a load on it.

Red top optima battery, grounded to a chassis tab near the battery box behind the seat, msd is grounded to a chassis tab, everything has the powdercoat removed. I've checked the headers for leaks, changed header gaskets, using the felpro gaskets, I changed the chip out as well. The only thing I hadnt rechecked is the chassis ground, changed msd boxes or changed distributors. Timing is right on the mark and the motor never cuts out under hard or medium throttle.

I've talked with the motor builder, i've tried a different carburetor that I know is good and the same as the one I was using (kb 750 gas) and no change. It seems I've fouled a plug every night i've run the car, but usually in a heat race or during hot laps and normally on the left bank.

I ran the same motor and carb in my older, non powder coated car and had no problems at all. I'm wondering if I need to add a ground strap to the heads? Poor ground to the motor because of the powder coat causing issues? I'm so frustrated with this and I need more ideas of what could be the problem? Thanks for the help guys.

Check for a blown header gasket or a cracked tube.
My sarcasm is a pre-emptive strike to your stupidity!!
