    Carb help

When I fire the motor it runs for just a split second and dies and will not re-fire until I give the throttle a squirt, after I get it going it idles fine. What's up with that? I'm thinking it may be jetted too rich. When I tore it down for a freshin up last year the pistons and heads looked way too clean like they were being washed down with gas, think this could be the problem?

That sounds more like a lean problem. Next time without touching the throttle give it a shot of gas down the throat of the carb and see if it fires.
My sarcasm is a pre-emptive strike to your stupidity!!

What's the problem if the gas down the hatch works?

Turn the 4 corner idle screws out a 1/2 turn

Take both idle screws all the way in and then turn it 1 1/2 turns out.
